Why Organic?

There are so many options out there to use on your skin that it really is overwhelming. As you already know, the skin is an organ, the largest of our body in fact; the pores that you may be complaining of are really little tubes that absorb all of the product, pollution and other environmental hazards that we are exposed to daily. I recently decided that as far as my skin regimen goes, I am going organic. I figure that I already eat organic, so my topical program should be too. The worry that I had in going organic was that I would loose results, so I have set out on a new mission. I have been trying all of the organic products for the last month and this week will be announcing the winning product line. Without results the line is useless so that is what I am really after, but I want the product to be pure and healthy too. Stay tuned!

Cheers for Bumble and Bumble

For those of you who are having dry and damaged strands from coloring, sun, chlorine and styling you must try Bumble and Bumble conditioner 'Super Rich.'
It is the best thing ever!
You can find it at Ricky's and Space NK in NYC.

Tan Towels!

We have all read, seen or heard that the sun has harmful UV rays that can result in pre-mature aging, hyper and hypo pigmentation and the worser case, skin cancer.
I stopped getting any sun a few years ago-before that I baked all the time in the tanning bed and now that I am older, the damage that I have to my skin is tough to reverse and maintain from getting any worse.
Yet, I miss the color and self tanners in bottles can be messy and let's face it, most don't smell so great either:)
So, I now introduce TANTOWEL. One towel will work for your face and body without streaking. You will be left with a uniform tan within two hours and you don;t have to run around naked for a half hour to wait until it dries.
I have been buying them at Boyd's pharmacy. A box of 10 towels is $26.
To be honest, it's a small price to pay compared with the alternatives of the real sun light.

Hot Summer Polish!

I've been looking for the great favorite colors of the summer!
OPI has a great blue called dating a royal blue. Try it out-it looks great with a tan!

On another note pink lips are all the rage right now! Even neons if you dare can make a great statement. Just keep the rest of your color subtle. A new pink color I am really liking is by Chantecaille-of course it is one of my favorites! The moisture level is great too and all of the colors work across most skin tones. Check them out at Space NK-they have a great selection.

If pink is not your thing, nudes are making a major comeback too. The great thing about nudes is that you can go as bare as you want. Very light nudes can actually appear very dramatic on you with a smoky gray or smoky brown eye. Smoky plum sets the nude off as well. Chanel is making a wonderful alternative to the glossimers they have been making. The formula is not as sticky and the brush is softer and easier to manipulate. They have a great variety of nudes and light pinks that I have lived on this summer. I mostly recommend #73. I have seen this color on blonds, brunettes and red heads and it works for all!

Lastly, I just tried some of Jurliques new formulations. They have an exfoliator with completely perfectly sphered apricot seeds and it did wonders for my skin. Also, they have a regenerating serum for day and night that I have to say was wonderful. I used it for a few days and noticed a difference in the clarity and overall health of my skin. In my opinion this formulation of both products is heads and shoulders above the old face scrub made of oatmeal and tahini and the serum is more results oriented than the Herbal Recovery Gel. Shout out to Jurlique!

Happy Tuesday!

See?! I stick to my promise!

Here I am again...

I was watching an old Friend's episode this morning and Monica's Mom tells her to start using a night creme. It was the episode where Nana passes away.
Anyhow, I got to thinking about age and how things stop going back to normal as quickly as they did when I was younger. I can remember not sleeping and drinking too much and looking fine the next day. Now if that were to happen I would look and feel like hell for two or three days.
So, to help me along in the fight for young and glowing skin-it is night creme time. In the summer night creme's can sometimes feel to much for your skin-but please use one. You may want to try a lighter version of what you currently use. Gels and Lotions are good for this time of year; just make sure that they have anti-oxidants and will help with healthy cell turnover. Use one for your face and neck and a separate for your eye area.
You will thank me in the morning!

Where have I been?

Wow!

I can not believe how fast time has gone by. What have I been up to? I am pursuing my MBA and working full time. Things have been so busy. On top of everything else I forgot my password to this page and I would get annoyed everytime I tried to log in (I finally remembered it).
So, now I am back, no more flaking out.
I have to make a shout out to a mascara that kicks ass honestly. It is By Teddy. It was recommended to me by a sales associate at space nk and honestly, it has changed my life. No, that is an exaggeration, but I really love it. The brush is very full so it not only lengthens your lashes but it adds volume to them. I have blonde hair but I use the black mascara which I find works better with light eyes to make the color pop. The other thing to note about this mascara is that it did not make my eyes feel itchy or irritated the way alot of other mascaras do.

Chantecaille-what can I say but Chantecaille?! This brand has become my obsession. I literally sit around thinking which product I will buy next from this line. I started with the foundation and a plumping lip gloss and it was all down hill from there (well down hill for my bank account, excellency for my face). I fell in love hard. I found myself purchasing the eye shadows, the lipsticks and my most favorite the stick of color that can go on your cheeks, eyes, nose bridge. Oh! and the concealer is fantastic! If you have not tried this brand yet you must get yourself somewhere that has this brand and buy it-you will love it! The textures, fragrance and colors are phenomenal.

So I promise I will be on more frequently-I am sorry to withold this information for so long!
Enjoy this great weather and stay sexy!

Haven't been on for a while...

I am long overdue for a post!
Hope all is going well-
I want to start by giving a shout out to my beautiful Mom.
HAAAAYYYYY!

Well, now that I have finished that, I can get started.
I went to Saks the other day to play on the best cosmetic floor in the history of the world and made some really great discoveries.
First, MAC has a lipgelee called Lilacrush and guess what? Everyone should own it-It is unreal-looks great on all complexions-
Guys, if you are stumped with what to get your gal for Valentines Day-this should be a part of the gift-only a part (you can do better than just a lip gloss right?)
Anyhow, YSL has that l'eclat (butchered the spelling I bet). I'm liking it for highlighting but it was at the YSL counter that I realized something really disturbing-'My my what deep fine lines grandma has' said the big bad wolf.
Yikes! It was really scary-
I like getting older because of wisdom and life experience blah blah but gee, I can tell this process is going to be difficult for someone like me (really vain and youth obsessed-why I don't live in LA I'll never know).

I bought that highlighter (above pre-tangent) from YSL as well as the YSL eye cream with the red ginseng and mushroom base. Not loving the eye cream-nothing will ever compare to the Amore Pacific Eye Creme. (I know I am biased but it is 100% the best-I've used everything).

Also, I have decided that I am going to buy one fragrance per month from L'artisan-I'm obsessed with them-My friend Melissa got me one 'Saffron' for Christmas and it is just lovely-I'm now addicted to the brand.
Oh! and Bond No 9- Peace-
I know it is the best selling in the Bond line and guess what? It should be. The smell is just sweet enough without being overpowering.

So, I hope that this helps and gives some purchase tips.
I am really going to get back on the ball with this blogging:)
Happy Shopping!
