Whew! What a Year!

Happy New Year!
They go by so fast...

I'm not sure about you, but I had some stressful season! It was the typical Holiday mayhem and I had a few moments where I thought that I was going to breakdown.
I did get through it though and hope that you did too.

When we stress we break out, we bloat and we tire more easily. It makes us feel overall yucky...
Between parties, work obligations, family obligations, gift giving, crowds, shopping, wrapping etc it can be very hectic and difficult to emerge from the season looking and feeling your best.
As I write this I am flat ironing my hair, putting on make up and playing with my dogs so trust me, I know what it is to be busy and rushing around!

Let's make a pact to enter the New Year stress-free and happy-from this moment on...

I have some coping mechanisms that work for me and want to share them with you; Keep in mind, I know that everyone is different so pick and choose what would work for your lifestyle.
Also, I'm no Doctor-these are just things that work for me that I want to pass on to you.

1. Accept that you will not get everything done:
I'm not saying this to bring you down or say you are not efficient; this is simply a method to get you to prioritize your day and accept that if the smaller things do not get finished, it is not the end of your world (or anyone else's).

2. Go to the GYM!
Anyone who knows me knows that the gym is my hang out-first thing in the morning every morning-why? It;s MY time-I never get Angela time except at the gym. Here I think about my day, strategize for work, and sometimes let my mind go totally blank-
Another perk? With all the partying and drinking, it keeps the weight off. (See #3)

3. DO NOT DIET!
First, when you diet at the Holidays it annoys other people and makes them feel that they are doing wrong by indulging. Second, you become an irritation for your host and third and most important-it is OK to enjoy yourself-
Take this information from someone who is always watching her weight-seriously- the Holidays can be a time to back off slightly-don't gorge but if you want a piece of cake or candy allow yourself to have it-you can not gain weight in one night!

4. Shop ahead of time
I like to start Holiday shopping in January-buy a little at a time-the same goes for cards and wrapping-if you don;t remember what you got the person by the next holiday so what? You will find out when they open it.

5. Get a Facial!
Just a one hour one will allow you to zone out and make your skin look beautiful for your parties!

Carry these in your pocket for the New Year and all year through-I;m counting on you to keep calm!
We made a deal remember?
